Okara: Farmers of the country’s largest province are protesting because the government failed to start the procurement of wheat. The provincial government has not yet announced any action plan for the purchase of wheat.
Farmers are protesting against the non-initiation of government procurement of wheat in Punjab province. Even after these protests, arrests of farmers, and incidents of lathi-charge on them, the Punjab government has reportedly not been able to buy even a grain of wheat.
The matter of concern in this matter is that even in the recent meeting of the Punjab Cabinet, no announcement could be made regarding the date of launching the wheat procurement campaign.
