ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader and former federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has been appointed as advisor to the prime minister on political affairs.
On the advice of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of Rana Sanaullah.
In a statement issued by the President’s House on Tuesday evening, it was said that “President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of Rana Sanaullah Khan as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs.”
Rana Sanaullah Khan, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, will get the status of Federal Minister.
The President approved the appointment of Rana Sanaullah Khan on the advice of the Prime Minister under Article 93 (a) of the Constitution.
It should be noted that currently, Rana Sanaullah Khan is the president of Muslim League-N Punjab. He was defeated in the 2024 general elections from his home constituency in Faisalabad.
Rana Sanaullah held the post of Federal Interior Minister during the 16-month rule of PDM.
