New Zealand: New Zealand announced the squad for T20 World Cup 2024, veteran batsman Kane Williamson has been appointed as the captain.
New Zealand is the first team to announce a squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 starting in June.
The Kiwis today announced their 15-man squad, which also includes Kane Williamson and fast-bowling duo Tim Southee and Trent Boult.
Kane Williamson will play in the T20 World Cup for the sixth time and the fourth time as captain.
There are no major surprises in New Zealand’s squad, with key fast bowler Kelly Jamieson and all-rounder Adam Milne ruled out of the event due to injury. At the same time, some recent white-ball cricketers Will Overke, Tom Latham, Tim Seifert, and players like Will Young did not make the squad.
The New Zealand squad consists of these players:
Kane Williamson (captain), Finn Allen, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Dion Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Nesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Ash Sodhi, Tim Southee
Traveling reserve: Ben Sears
