PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazal Rehman has warned the “forces” keeping his party out of parliament that they will take the issue to the streets through mass protests.
Addressing his party office-bearers from Peshawar, Mohmand, and Khyber districts through video link, he said that those who kept JUI-F out of Parliament should listen to their injustice and oppression on the streets. Will raise voice against.
The meeting held at the Mufti Mehmood Center was called to consider the arrangements for the JUI(F) protest rally on May 9 against alleged rigging in the last general elections.
Without naming any leader or party, Fazlur Rehman said that those who have continuously raised concerns over rigged elections in 2018 are silent on the rigging of the February 8 general elections.
He alleged that the 2018 general elections were rigged and the same drama was repeated in the February 8 elections, where those who fought for power got power through rigged elections.
Fazlur Rehman said that whenever there was a report of rigging in the elections, JUI(F) played a leading role against it, Maulana Mufti Mehmood had launched a movement against such rigging in 1977 as well.
The JUI(F) chief said that his elders fought for the freedom of the subcontinent and they raised awareness among the people through the Azadi March, that they are independent and will never accept subjugation, the freedom of Pakistan. Since then, it has suffered irreparable damage politically, economically, and democratically.
He said that he would fight the forces that rigged the elections in the ‘People’s Assembly’ because they were out to save the country, and his party would overthrow the government imposed on the country and restore true democracy.
Fazlur Rahman also expressed his concern over Israel’s atrocities against innocent Palestinians. He said that Israeli forces are killing children, women, and the elderly indiscriminately. It can be assumed that they bombed the hospitals, killing and injuring the patients, JUI(F) stands with the Palestinian people in this difficult time and will raise their voice for them at every forum.
Earlier, a meeting of JUI(F) officials was held under the chairmanship of Senator Attaur Rahman. In the meeting, the leaders of Ansar Islam, social media representatives of JUI(F), members of the National Assembly, Tehsil Nazimin, Lawyers Forum, and the party were present. Officials of the K Teacher Forum also participated.
Addressing the meeting, Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman said that under a thought-out plan and rigged elections, governments were given to the favored people in the four provinces and the center on February 8.
He said that JUI(F) did not recognize the results of the last general elections, the rigging of the last general elections was a continuation of the rigged elections in 2018.
He said that JUI(F) will hold a historic rally on May 9, which will have a profound impact on the political scenario of the country.
He said that 4,000 Ansar-ul-Islam volunteers will lead the rally and provide security to the participants.
