On Friday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CTD dismissed these four policemen.
A citizen had registered a case against CTD officials at Karachi Tipu Sultan Police Station.
In his application, the citizen told the police that he was abducted by unknown plainclothes persons and released for a ransom of four lakh rupees.
According to the plaintiff in this case, the accused introduced themselves as CTD officials and kept them in custody at the Garden Police Headquarters along with other persons.
A journalist who was among the abducted citizens introduced himself to the policemen and told them that he was associated with the media, after which the accused released him with instructions to keep quiet about the incident.
The police initiated action on the plea of the plaintiff and issued show-cause notices to the officials involved in the incident.
