Sahiwal: The owners of samosas and pakoras started playing with people’s health. The indiscriminate use of unhealthy spices and unhealthy potatoes in the markets started causing people to suffer from various diseases. Doctors and officials of the Punjab Food Authority Department are limited to checking licenses and issuing receipts of annual fees. Representatives of public circles and citizens have demanded reform of the situation from the top officials of the Punjab Food Authority.
Citizens and representatives of public circles while talking to journalists said that the owners of samosa pakora shops in the city and its surroundings have started playing with people’s health in the temptation of making money. Samosa pakora shop owners started selling samosa pakoras from the vegetable market with rotten potatoes, onions, and poor spices, while the doctors and staff of the Food Authority are limited to issuing licenses and fee receipts. The representatives of public circles and citizens have requested the senior officers of the Food Authority to take samples of oil and other items used by the sellers of samosas and pakoras from the markets.
