ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court has restrained Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi from speaking against state institutions and their officials.
Accountability Court judge Nasir Javed Rana issued a major order on the request of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan for a fair trial.
In the order, it has been stated that the court has also restrained speaking against the state institutions and their officers in the courtroom during the trial.
The order asked the media to refrain from publishing politically inflammatory narratives targeting state institutions and their officers, alleging that the founder of PTI had made political, inflammatory statements against the dignitaries of state institutions. , gave biased statements, statements regarding the Judiciary, Pakistan Army, and Army Chief are tantamount to disrupting judicial decorum.
According to the order, such statements obstruct the process of delivery of justice, it is the responsibility of the court to take care of the requirements of court decorum and fair trial, the jail authorities should restore the jail court to its pre-Eid position, the accused should be sent to the state. They will not give political, inflammatory, biased statements even regarding institutions and their officers.
The order stated that the media would not report the statements of the accused in the middle of the court proceedings of the trial, and the prosecution, the accused and their lawyers would not make inflammatory, political, partisan statements during the hearing that may harm the court decorum, family members and Other lawyers who are present in the court will not make such rhetoric.
According to the order, the order is subject to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) guideline that prohibits discussing pending cases, as per PEMRA’s code of conduct, political statements of the accused do not come under legal reporting.
It should be noted that on April 19, during the hearing of the 190 million pound case, Imran Khan filed a petition in the court regarding erecting wooden walls for a free trial.
The founder of PTI took the stand in front of the court that additional walls have been erected in the courtroom, it does not look like an open court environment.
The court while talking to the PTI founder said to avoid press conferences during the hearing, The PTI founder replied that if any wrong statement is made outside my name then I have to explain it. I talk to journalists.
The court remarked that it is important to respect the court, and that you should talk to the journalists after the hearing. Allow 10 minutes to speak to the media.
