Argentina’s foreign ministry has asked Interpol to arrest Iranian Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi in connection with the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was said that Minister Ahmad Wahidi is part of the Iranian delegation visiting Pakistan and Sri Lanka and Interpol has issued a red alert for his arrest at the request of Argentina.

The statement said that Argentina has also demanded the arrest of Waheidi from these two governments.

On April 12, an Argentine court charged Iran with the 1994 attack on the AMIA Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires and the bombing of the Israeli embassy two years earlier. 29 people were killed in the attack on the Israeli embassy.
