Failing to stop Iran attack on October 7, Israeli intelligence chief resigns

The attack by Hamas severely damaged the perception of Israel’s military and its defense capabilities

Dawn International Reporter
Tel Aviv: Israel’s military has said that the head of its intelligence corps has resigned from his post after not knowing about the October 7 attack in time.
According to the Associated Press news agency, the Chief of Intelligence of the Israeli army, Aharon Haleva, is the first major and important government official to resign after the Palestinian militant organization Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 last year.
The October 7 attack by Hamas severely damaged the perception of Israel’s military and its defense capabilities.
After this operation of October 7, Israel started bombing the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for six months.
The Israeli army’s intelligence chief said immediately after the Hamas attack that he took responsibility for not being able to stop it.
According to the statement of the Israeli army, the military chief of staff has accepted the resignation of Aharon Haleva and thanked him for his service to the country.
After the resignation of the intelligence chief, it is expected that several other key officials may also resign, who are accused of failing to pre-empt the attack on the country’s security and Hamas.
