Sahiwal: A seminar and walk was organized by the Environment Department Sahiwal in Sahiwal District Council on the occasion of World Earth Day.
Like other countries of the world, World Earth Day was celebrated in Sahiwal and various events were organized in this regard. The main event of World Earth Day was organized by the Environment Department Sahiwal at the District Council Hall, The commissioner of Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed was the chief guest. Heads of various departments and people from different walks of life and civil society participated in the ceremony. On this occasion, Commissioner Sahiwal Shoaib Iqbal Syed said that today we should pledge that plastic shoppers and other items are in our daily lives, Take it out. This plastic shopping bag is not wasted for centuries and pollutes our environment. Mr. Jalil Butt emphasized that it is not only the responsibility of our institutions but everyone should fulfill their duty and abandon the use of plastic shopping bags. Assistant Director Environment Sahiwal M/S Sawira said that be a part of the Punjab Government’s campaign “No to Plastic” and make this campaign successful because it is a question of our future generations. On this occasion, a walk was also held from the district council hall to DC Chowk.
