London: The suspect involved in the crime of setting fire to two worshipers in front of mosques in Britain was sentenced to indefinite detention in the hospital.
Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the suspect was convicted of attempting to kill worshippers.
The suspect had set fire to worshipers in front of mosques in London and Birmingham last year.
According to the Prosecution Service, there was no evidence that the 29-year-old accused committed a crime under any particular ideology, so these incidents were not considered a terrorist attacks.
According to the order of the Birmingham Crown Court, the accused cannot leave the hospital without the approval of the British government. The sentencing judge declared the accused mentally ill and said he needed full treatment.
Nick Price, head of the CPS Special Crime and Counter-Terrorism Division, said the victim was left with serious injuries and trauma as a result of the suspect’s attack.
