After the abrogation of Article 370, state elections were not even held there, now the Indian Prime Minister has announced to change the constitutional status of Occupied Kashmir.

Srinagar: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that soon Jammu and Kashmir will be given state status and state elections will be held there.
Narendra Modi’s announcement of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir violates Article 370, which the Modi government abrogated on August 5, 2019.
Jammu and Kashmir is a semi-autonomous state under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and has special powers. Still, Narendra Modi revoked the said special status of Occupied Kashmir on 5 August 2019.
After the abrogation of Article 370 by Narendra Modi, there were no state elections, and now the Indian Prime Minister announced to change the constitutional status of Occupied Kashmir. According to the Indian newspaper India Today, Narendra Modi in Udhampur of Occupied Kashmir. Addressing a political rally, he said that soon Jammu and Kashmir will be given the status of a state.
He also spoke about Article 370 and said that the said article was implemented for political gains and after its abrogation the situation in Occupied Kashmir has changed.
