Agra: According to Indian police, an American tourist was allegedly harassed by a tourist guide while taking pictures at the Taj Mahal.
Manmohan Arya, a 54-year-old tourist guide, has been arrested from Agra and accused of abusing the woman, police said.
An American couple in their 50s were busy visiting the 17th-century landmark Taj Mahal in Agra in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday when the guide approached them to offer their services.
An officer at the Taj Mahal Tourist Police Station said the guides were taking photographs of the couple in the vicinity of the water tank. On this occasion, he allegedly tried to kiss the woman.
The couple stopped the guide and reported the incident to the security personnel posted at the Taj Mahal. The guide was arrested and handed over to the police.
The American couple came all the way from New Delhi to see the famous white marble masterpiece. The accused will be produced in court on Monday.
