Shawwal moon sighted in Pakistan, Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD: The Shawwal moon has been sighted in Pakistan and Eid-ul-Fitr will take place on Wednesday, April 10.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Sighting of the Crescent Committee, announced the sighting of the moon of Shawwal. While announcing the sighting of the moon in Islamabad, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that different areas of the country including Karachi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Mohmand, Skardu. Evidences of the sighting of the Shawwal moon have been received.
He said that after examining the testimonies, the Rawat Hilal Committee unanimously decided that tomorrow will be the 1st of Shawwal and Eid-ul-Fajr.
Keep in mind that the moon was not visible in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries yesterday, so Eid will be held there on Wednesday, April 10.
The committee meeting for Shawwal moon sighting was held at the central office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Kohsar Block.
Members of Central and Zonal Committee Islamabad, Meteorological Department, SPARCO, and IT experts participated in the meeting.
Earlier, Meteorologist had said that the forecast is clear in Islamabad and there is a clear possibility of moon sighting.
In a statement issued by the Meteorological Department, it was said that the birth of the Shawwal moon took place at 11:21 last night. At sunset today, the age of the moon will be 19 to 20 hours. On a scientific basis, there is a clear possibility of seeing the moon for 19 to 20 hours.
