Riyadh: The Eid-ul-Fitr moon was not seen in Saudi Arabia on Monday evening, Eid-ul-Fitr will be held on Wednesday, April 10.
According to Dawn TV, the meteorologists of Tabuk, Sudir and Tamir observatories say it is impossible to see the Shawwal moon on Monday evening in the current weather conditions.
While announcing the decision of the Supreme Court, Iwan Shahi said that Tuesday, April 9 is the 30th day of Ramadan and Wednesday, April 10 will be the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Earlier, the Saudi Supreme Court had said that the Shawwal moon should be seen in the kingdom on Monday, April 8.
Anyone can see the Shawwal moon with the naked eye or through binoculars.
According to the Supreme Court, if the moon is sighted, report it to the nearest court and record your statement. People can also contact their nearest center for help in going to court.
In Saudi Arabia and most Arab countries, Ramadan began on March 11. If the moon is not sighted on Monday, Tuesday will be Ramadan 30, and Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday.
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. The day provides an opportunity for families to come together and celebrate.
