643% more websites had their data stolen in 2023 than in the previous three years

London: Global cyber security company Kaspersky has revealed that the personal data of 24 people was stolen from websites with the dotpk domain in the year 2023.
According to Kaspersky’s report, 10 million devices around the world were victims of data theft last year, while around 10 million websites were also victims of data theft.
According to the company, 443,000 websites worldwide were attacked by data-stealing viruses in the last 5 years.
According to the report, most of the attacks were carried out on websites having a .com domain and the number of attacks on websites of the said domain was more than 30 crore in such attacks data of passwords including login information was stolen. According to the agency, the data of 24 lakh people from websites having dot.pk domains in Pakistan alone was stolen.
The company said that 643 percent more websites had their data stolen in 2023 than in the previous three years.
The company’s researchers believe that the number of compromised websites could be many times higher than 10 million devices last year when viruses attacked 10 million devices in an attempt to steal data.
According to the multinational company, the stolen data includes data related to social media, online banking, and various corporate services while cyber attackers can use the stolen data for many purposes.
