Sentences of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi suspended in Tosha Khana case

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court on Monday suspended the sentences of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshah Khana case and ordered their release in this case. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan And his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to fourteen years imprisonment with hard labor on January 31st in the Toshakhana reference.
Before the recent elections, the Accountability Court of Islamabad also disqualified Imran Khan and his wife from holding any public office for ten years.
Several other cases were also filed against Imran Khan and he is also serving sentences. The Tosha Khana reference is just one of these cases. Imran Khan calls these cases political. He says that his political party was also cracked down before the election. His political party symbol was withdrawn while Tehreek-e-Insaf Pakistan was barred from contesting the election as a party.
Despite this, Imran Khan’s supporters emerged as the largest political force by contesting the elections as independents.
Even after winning the election, Imran Khan reiterated that the country’s democratic institutions are trying to remove him from politics at the behest of the country’s powerful army. However, the Pakistan Army rejects these allegations of Imran Khan.
