Edinburgh: The official residence of the First Minister of Scotland, Hamza Yusuf, echoed with the call to prayer. An interfaith Iftar was organized and the first Barazaan was given by the First Minister at the official residence at Beut House in Scotland’s capital Edinburgh.
Scotland’s First Minister Hamza Yusuf has shared a video on the photo and sharing app Instagram in which Muslim, Jewish, and Christian community members can be seen gathered under one roof. Shaykh Rabbani gave the adhan in Beut House today, probably for the first time. It should be noted that last year the Parliament of Scotland elected Hamza Yusuf as the first minister of Pakistani origin, after which 37-year-old Hamza Yusuf is the youngest and first Muslim head of Scotland.
Hamza Yusuf’s father hails from Mian Chinnu, Pakistan, who migrated to Scotland with his family in the 1960s, while his mother was born in Kenya to a South Asian family.
