LONDON: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to the UK will resume in weeks, not months, and has raised the matter of the suspension of flights with British officials. The foreign minister made this announcement on his way back from Brussels, the capital of Belgium, during a short visit to London, where he participated in the first Nuclear Energy Summit. In London, Isaac Darr, British Minister of State for Development and Africa, Andrew Mitchell, and Minister met with Lord Tariq Ahmed of the Kingdom of the Middle East, North Africa, and South Africa, later he met with several members of the Assembly, members of the House of Lords at an iftar hosted by Pakistan High Commissioner Muhammad Faisal. Dr. Akhtar told Gulfam that the issue of the resumption of PIA flights in the UK was considered in the meeting, and Ishaq Dar urged the British authorities to review it. PIA flights from the airports were banned.
