Imran Khan’s demand for prosecution under Article 6 against ‘mandate thieves’

Rawalpindi: A day after the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protested outside the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the US against the alleged rigging of the February 8 elections, former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan. They demanded treason cases against the officials who allegedly stole the mandate of the people in the general elections. Imran Khan claimed that his party got more than 3 crore votes in the elections compared to the 17 other political parties combined. He further said that PTI has raised the issue of irregularities in the elections before the IMF, and many non-governmental organizations have also pointed out flaws in the election process. As part of the conspiracy, the electoral symbol of ‘bat’ was deprived and then reserved seats were also taken away from PTI, the theft of the mandate is tantamount to treason, to which Article 6 applies.
