India’s demand from the IMF to closely monitor Pakistan’s debt

If the loan is not used for defense expenditure, the money can be used for terrorism or debt repayment to other countries (China, Saudi Arabia).

London: Alleging that the money will be used for defense purposes, India has demanded strict monitoring of Pakistan’s debt from the IMF. The 3 billion dollar IMF program for Pakistan will end in April. After that, Pakistan needs another loan program from the IMF to pay the interest on the loans. A review meeting was held in which India’s delegate, Krishnamurtisubramaniam, took a strong stand.
He said that it should be ensured that the IMF loan is not used for defense expenditure. India has also hinted that the money could be used to invest in terrorism or pay off loans to other countries (China, Saudi Arabia). India has recently participated in voting on loan programs for Pakistan. refrained from taking and did not vote even in July.
