On Saturday, thousands of workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf staged protests in different cities of the country, alleging rigging in the February 8 general elections. Heavy police force was deployed in all major cities in the wake of these protests and rallies. A Tehreek-e-Insaaf spokesperson has said without giving details that the authorities are arresting peaceful protesters. Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Sher Afzal Marwat addressed a public demonstration in Rawalpindi. On this occasion, he said, “We will continue our struggle until we get back the stolen mandate.” PTI claims victory in 180 out of 266 seats in the recent elections. The party claims that its mandate was stolen and won by the opposition parties through rigging.
