London: Another woman hostess of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has been reported missing in Canada. An air hostess named Maryam Raza was posted on flight PK 782 from Islamabad to Toronto. Maryam Raza was supposed to perform duties on flight PK 784 from Toronto to Karachi. Due to non-reporting, a thank you PIA note was found written on the uniform hanging in Maryam Raza’s room. It should be noted that this year the number of alleged missing hostesses including 2 PIA women has increased to 3. Yes, the passports of flight attendants on Toronto flights are collected by the station manager to prevent alleged disappearances, but the passport collection policy has also failed to prevent incidents of flight attendants slipping. The main reasons behind the alleged disappearance of flight attendants are low salaries and lack of job security in national airlines. Last year also, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Islamabad landed in Toronto. 2 senior flight attendants went missing in Canada, taking the number of PIA crew ‘disappeared’ to 4. Similarly, 4 crew members slipped last year too.
