This is the second incident of firing at the house of a Sikh separatist activist this month. No one was injured in the shooting as the house is under construction and currently vacant. According to the British newspaper The Guardian, the shooting occurred at a time when Inderjit Singh Ghosal had announced that the pro-Khalistan movement would be held in Toronto on February 17. The Khalistan separatist movement has received a lot of attention in recent months following the murder of Hardeep Singh Nagar. Anderjeet Singh Ghosal is also a close associate of prominent Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pinan, an American Sikh activist in New York whom US officials said a failed plot to kill was made in the US last year.
