Yemen: Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed a missile attack on a British oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden, which set the tanker on fire. The Houthi rebels launched these attacks in the sea near Yemen in mid-November last year. They claim that they are being carried out in response to Israel’s attack on Gaza. Global trade by sea has suffered since these attacks, and many rogue shipping companies have taken longer sea routes to transport goods through Africa, increasing costs.
